For this week (and maybe another week) in May i’ll be sharing a photo a day on this blog as well as on my main blog: Faern in the Works Please check back

For today's image we are checking out the 24Diviz in front of the Castro Theatre, one of the most fun and bustling corners in the city of San Francisco!

What’s your favorite corner in San Francisco?

“The between of buildings is a fascination point”

As I am working through the newest Muni based pieces, I am also completing some more architecturally based pieces, the one you see above is the most currently completed one.

New San Francisco Vista!

One of the best parts of our fair city are all the various “Vistas” as i like to call them-

Here is one that i have been recently paying a lot of attention too, and will probably use in a large mixed media piece…

This image was recently used in a guest post on ‘Imagine Balance‘…

Choosing the images that will be in the larger pieces of mixed media is not the easiest thing too do, but it’s definitely one of my favorite things to do! But I have to wait to get started on it because i do not a have a surface to mount the image on yet- that is an integral part of the larger City based pieces- I covet old cabinets for this part of the process which are not the easiest things to come by. The first two I made sold immediately, I have the third large piece almost done (i have been pretty slow on this b/c I do not have a place to show them yet- for some reason having that makes me work faster). I also have a set of three medium sized pieces almost done- they are all on cabinets.

In my studio I am currently working on the transfer pieces- i know you have seen the past few posts about them, if not- here you go!

The Fourth Piece with #muni Transfers « InterUrban Reflections.

Take Three with the #MUNI Transfers « InterUrban Reflections.

Step One With The #muni Transfers « InterUrban Reflections.

Basically, what those are are images of some of my pieces that i am beginning- I have edited the images to make them unique pieces of art. Every once in a while, these four pieces will be re-photographed and edited- creating a series of artwork.

Each piece will have a collectible series of photographic prints-

Similar to the idea of a “Step by Step” of the completed piece of Photo Mixed Media or Mixed Media pieces. I’m saying similar because i am not on any sort of schedule in terms of taking the images within the process- when the pieces looks good for an image, I’m going to do it.

Right now i am making the ones above- as well as starting on some more miniature sized pieces~

i can’t wait to share them with you all !

PLEASE do not forget, if you like the artwork here you can share the store from the following link- and maybe purchase something yourself! here it is~>

This one has the oldest transfer I could find in my (second) collection of the transfers that i used myself. This is the second collection because one day my artist brain said “You’ll not do this soon enough GET RID OF THEM” ok, so that’s not my artist brain that’s the – maybe we’ll clean out the art studio brain- only slightly related- i think that brain threw out my fast passes too- gosh, that would suck since we’re about to lose the pretty colored fast passes- oh well~ still no clipper card for me- sorry guys- just like books, i’m holding out on getting more plastic-

Anyhow, the oldest transfer ended up bottom left near the frame, its from 2006….

Oh what a glorious color the muni transfers were in March- here is the beginning of the transfers being used in some art work. I have a lot to work with, thanks to http://www.munidiaries.com/ (@munidiaries)!

Granted, a lot of the first ones I am working with are my own- its just something about the turquoise made me want to put the call out for more~ stay tuned, I have more of these to share!

One of the reasons i am working with the transfers is because of their day to day ‘ness of them- the everyday use and familiarity- that is quickly changing- i have yet to get one of those cards…
